Students acepted into UMEB-ITES
Students receive NSF funded fellowships
Student Betsabe Castro and Lourdes Lastra received UMEB fellowships (Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology) sponsored by NSF and managed by the Institute for Tropical Ecosystem Studies (ITES). These fellowships provide stipends to both students and will allow them to work on projects associated to Mona Island Reserve. Ms Castro is working on a project that addresses the effect of an exotic African grass in the seed rain and seed banks of Cactaceae in Mona Island. Ms Lastra will work on the biodiversity of Acarinae in Mona Island Reserve.
